The problem is the Indians get pickled and forget that they just cant swim.

they have no understanding of the sea

So true Lezlie, they seem to have a distinct lack of common sense - or a massive sense for adventure; which I suppose can amount to the same thing........accidents and carnage.
The life guards were present when I took a stroll along Baga beach a few days ago, they were blowing whistles and making lots of hand signals to the guys in the sea but to no avail. As Lez said, once the fenny kicks in they have no sense of danger. It's the same on the roads out here they just don't seem to have any road sense.

I have observed the Indians in the hotel pools trying to swim and to be honest it is pathetic, watching them doing the doggy paddle and throwing their head from side to side, one lady even wanted to get in the pool fully clothed and didn't like it when the pool attendant wouldn't allow it.

I was wondering where they learn to swim, is swimming taught at school in India?

With a bit of luck and the extra life guards the death rate should fall (I hope) I am also hoping the life guards are appointed on ability and not backhanders

I was wondering where they learn to swim, is swimming taught at school in India?
