Full programme of events can be found here:

Events based in and around Mdina, Vittoriosa and Valletta including lots of re-enactments, falconry demonstration, night time guided tours of Fort St Angelo and Birgu and culminating in the Malta Military Tattoo on 13th, 14th and 15th of October.
This is the sort of thing that Malta does really well so it is an event that shouldn't be missed!

Hello, yes now that would be worth going to have a look at, its a pity there is not more of this sort of thing through out the year so lots of tourists can get a look in.
Must say that the medieval carnival was very atmospheric with all the oil lamps and traditional costumes.
The arrival of Roger II was acted superbly by the UK group Swords of Dumnonia and helpers, it just brings history to life so much better than walking round stone buildings.
Neither event was particularly crowded so it was easy to get a good view and you could get close enough to the action without being restricted by 'security' measures.
