Hello all, I see in the Independent of Malta news paper that in the first 8 months of this year (2006) that tourist numbers are down by 3.7 percent.
It says that the numbers of British/German and French are down, but there are more from Italy and Russia.
On my last visit to Malta I did see a lot of students from Italy, and they can make a glass of coke last all night. So it could be said that not only are tourist numbers down, but bar takings must be as well
Dave
That's interesting because when I was there 2 weeks ago, discounting locals, most people I came across were German speaking.
The school my children attend now has 20 Russian families registered, the third highest after British and Maltese.
Ciao
Susan
I like the glass of coke lasting all night comment by Dave and can agree with it although there will be six sharing the coke
