Hi
We need a little bit of help please.
I thought Icmeler was brilliant especially in the evenings, the Bodrum peninsular is lovely, Olu Deniz we weren't too keen on. So can't decide on whether to go back to Bodrum, Icmeler or try a place next June that we haven't been to before, Altinkum. Is it a nice place, are there plenty of restaraunts/bars (but not like Marmaris or Gumbet), are the beaches nice and are there any nice places closeish to visit.
Many thanks for reading this and (hopefully) replying.

The town it self is nice,It has a nice promonard, and the people are very friendly(as most turkish people are we have met)try Diana's restaurant ,we visited there many times, and the food was brill.(they will also pick you up from you hotel free of charge as do at many places). We are going back to marmaris next year ,but will visit altinkum, the following year.
Helloooooooooooooooooooo from the northeast.
Altinkum is a good mix. Not too big and brash but lots of nice restaurants. We used to call walking down the main strip "running the gauntlet" because outside each restaurant is a front man trying to get you in, but they are all really friendly and crack jokes with you. Lots of fire served with meals in some restaurants and I think they try to out do one another. I seem to remember various stuffed animals adorning serving trays?! You have got to see it to believe it! Very entertaining though. Safe sandy beach, golden sands. Just found it a bit noisy if you wanted an early night, but we stayed in the Class Hotel which was near lots of karakoke bars. We grew to like the music and bad singing and it lulled us to sleep by the end of the two weeks! Surrounded countryside isn't very pretty, unlike the Marmaris/Olu area. But we found it a great base to do the big tours to Ephesus/Pamukule as they are closer.
Altinkum has something for everyone, and although it can be loud in some parts of the resort,it is not in others, everything is reasonably priced. We have an apartment there,if you would like any more info, feel free to PM me.
Cheers
Paul
