the HT site is very useful for things like that.. and i must admit, if i had known about it before we went to Punta jablillo in CT a few years ago ( 2004 i think) we would definitely not have gone there as the reviews are less than glowing!

I am a bit puzzled now, I live in Germany and have posted lots of times about various countries , some times about Germany and other Alpine countries, though as yet not about any hotels here. Reading previous posts does this mean you wouldn't print any recommendations for hotels that I may have for this country, (being on the spot means I may know some really good places to stay) I am a retired person living here with no connections to any hotels other than maybe having stayed in them.

Judith as you are a long term member here I'm sure we would find a way round your problem You'd have to pm one of the Admin for details.

hotel and resort reports are personal views, therefore provided they comply with our terms of posting all members are entitled to give an opinion however if a review is that bad it would be nice if the post elaborated on why instead of [as can been seen on some other forums] just saying it's a dump don't go.

Another point is also that just as long as the big tour operators are still including hotels in their brochures then the hotels don't care if standards are slipping or they have to cut costs to make more profit so we (the hard working holiday makers) are not getting as good quality in food/entertainment/cleanliness etc?

I know a lot of the brochures do the customer opinions in the brochures now days but its the small things like the comments on Holiday Truths that kind of matter and can dictate how the rest of the forum chooses a holiday. Well I do! I take notice of the little things! (like the comments along the lines of the bedrooms need a revamp and the pool is not cleaned as often as it once was or the food is not as good as when people visited the year before

I would not say I was very fussy. I go on the majority opinions as there is always somebody who slates a hotel and the other 98% say it is fab! so you know that it will be fine and that one person expected perhaps something different to expected.
