If you have not already sorted something out, we rented a wonderful villa in a small village called Regusse. The nearest town is Aups.

The villa is on holiday-rentals.co.uk and is property number 9106.

We flew to Nice and had a very pleasant drive of a couple of hours to the Villa. It is set in lovely grounds, has a pool, BBQ, activities etc. There was a lot of room - in fact between 4 of us there was ample space - even spare rooms. The village had a wonderful market twice per week with the town having a daily market.

The other wonderful draw is the Lac de Sainte Croix and the Verdon Gorge which we had never heard of but was absolutely stunning. We spent several days exploring this area.

The prices also reduce significantly in September so it is a good time to go.

Thank you so much for this; we have already booked two places, one near Bonnieux and one in the Languedoc. Sorry to be late in replying; I live in Canada and we were moving house on the 14th February in the middle of a severe snow storm!

You can imagine how much we're looking forward to our holiday in September.

Hope the move went well. Make the most of the snow while you can (!!) and enjoy your trip to France. It is beautiful there so I am certain you will.

Thank you all. Here we are on the 6th April in Dundas, Ontario, and we have had more sub zero temperatures and....SNOW! So we never have to make the best of it as you suggest....it just keeps coming!
