After having a pretty rough year we're planning on a family holiday to one of the Canary Isles. Can anyone recommend a good half board hotel or self catering accom. for two weeks over Christmas & New Year. Our kids are 2 & 3 so plenty to see and do is vital. Good nearby beach is a must. Ideally the location needs to be near bars, restaurants etc but not too club orientated. Obviously resort needs to be open as well, as I assume some places might be closed over Christmas!
Cost wise I'm not too bothered as long it's not silly money. I know some hotels will charge nearly adult price for All Inclusive for a 2 year old!
We would really consider any where if we thought it would be good for the little one's and give us a good break too.
Thanks
Chris
El Greco get good reviews and are in a good spot:-
Going on first holiday to Gran Canaria and have no idea what to expect at Christmas time. Can anyone advise as to where is a good place to have Christmas dinner and also any views on Bungalows Caribe would be greatly appreciated!
Just wondering if anyone can recommend a nice place to have Christmas Dinner and would we have to book. We don't arrive until mid afternoon Christmas day so it would be nice to know where we're going before hand.
Thanks
Mandy
where in GC are you going?
That was a vital piece of info that I missed out. We're staying at El Palmeral Bungalows in Maspalomas.

Did you get something booked? I didn't realise Christmas was such a popular time to go away. All holidays I found were almost double the price. Just thinking you might want to get booked sooner rather than later before they all sell out!
Or am I being daft? It's just that I've never had so little choice when I've booked a holiday before.
Do you think there will be a lot of places closed down over Christmas? That hadn't even crossed my mind!

I need some advice on GC at xmas too - I'm away for both xmas and new year and am looking for somewhere nice to have christmas dinner. We're staying in a private apartment near to the Cita in PDI.
