We stayed in a Montana room during January a couple of years ago. I thought the hotel was very comfortable. The nice thing about the Montana rooms is they're located in the main building so there's no need to put on coats etc to get to the restaurants/bars etc. Something you'll certainly appreciate in January when the weather is a good -10c or colder!
There was a lovely big open fire which was great for sitting around during the evening and having a few drinks. The rooms are quite basic but they are comfortable which is probably in keeping with the National Parks theme it has, so quite rustic. We'd happily go back.
Have a great time.
