Does anyone know what the Ocean Village 2 is like ? <EDIT - it's new for 2007>
We (me and my wife) were looking at the marinas & madinas cruise and thinking it might be what we want. It would be our first cruise and we would love to see naples & pisa.
What sort of price should we be looking at for the cruise in september or october 2007 with any discounts we could get ?
Also once we go on the cruise. What extra costs would we be looking at ?
Also can you do a renewal of vows on the ship or any other come to that ?
I know you can renew vows on Thomson ships, they offer packages for it flowers, photo etc. If you go to OV home page and the excursions pull down menu on top right hand side you can get the prices of excursions. I've been looking at some of the Caribbean ones and they seem quite expensive.
OV website and it's the casual way you can have your holiday that makes me want to go with these instead of the ones where you have to get dressed up for dinner. Saying that though i would want to get dressed up if i could renew my vows, so it might be worth looking at the Thomson ships. I'll have to see what cruises run the same-ish as the OV marinas & medinas.
I still might book the Ocean Village Two cruise though even if they don't do the renewal of vows. My wife likes the look of it in the brochure and i would give her the choice of which cruise to take.
Thanks. I've got a brochure and i've had a look at the I still might book the Ocean Village Two cruise though even if they don't do the renewal of vows. My wife likes the look of it in the brochure and i would give her the choice of which cruise to take.
Don't worry about having to get dressed up for dinner on Thomson ships, there is that option if you want it in the formal dining room but there is also an informal self service restaurant. I have booked the OV for Easter next year and I'm worrying now it might be too casual as I do like getting dressed up for dinner
we usually go on a package to Sousse , but thought we'd have a big ! change around next holiday .
If anyone has done this trip , id welcome all advice and info .
Thanks

The Ocean Village 2 used to be the old Crown Princess but at the moment it is a German Cruise ship I cant remember the name but it begins with 'A'.Somthing like Alge Bleu??
was known as aidablu
AIDAblu (formerly Arosa Blu, Crown Princess) is a cruise ship.
The vessel was constructed by Fincantieri in 1990 for Sitmar Cruises, and was under construction when P&O Princess Cruises took over the company. The ship was completed and named Crown Princess, and operated with the Princess Cruises fleet until mid 2002, when the ship was transferred to a new P&O Cruises company aimed at the German market; A'ROSA
Operating under the name Arosa Blu, the ship was one of two planned transfers to the A'ROSA fleet. Financial problems prevented the second transfer, and in September 2003, Arosa Blu was transferred to AIDA Cruises.
Refitted and renamed AIDAblu, the vessel reentered service in 2004, and became the fourth vessel in AIDA's fleet. The vessel features multiple restaurants and bars, a casino, Internet cafe, movie theater, children's area, and two swimming pools. Like all AIDA ships, the focus is on luxury cruising for those who prefer an active and health-conscious lifestyle.
In 2007, the vessel will be transferred to Ocean Village, to operate under the name Ocean Village Two, as the brand expands it's summer Meditteranean and winter Caribbean itineraries.

I have moved your post to the OV2 topic. As the OV and the OV2 are separate ships, it's best to keep the discussion on each separate.
