Ray.
Go for it Les, Sher-e-Punjab seems to be less popular than Delhi Durbar, but is, in my opinion, much better.
thanks dribyar and phil for your help.
Another nice place to try in Panjim is Mirch Masala in the Hotel Fidalgo on 18th June Road, there are a few restaurants in the Hotel's food complex area. Also try Auntie Marias in there for a nice cuppa and a cake.
GFF xx
I agree with GFF - Hotel Fidalgo is now a great place to eat, with something like 6 restaurants serving all sorts of different food at good prices.
ive decided on shere punjab.will taxi drivers know where it is,as im staying at baga i beleive its on the 18th june road?
Oceanic is our favourite beach shack. Again, great food and all the staff are great lads. It's at a nice part of the beach too, just near the river inlet. Looks great on photos, as does all of Goa really!
Hope you have a good time
thanks ronaldo.im looking forwad to it.where do i get the caravella,in panjim?how much was it,and what is included ,and how long are you on the boat, someone else mentioned this boat to me,thanks again.
chilly
Sorry its taken so long to reply. Just ask any taxi driver and he'll take you to the entrance to the docks for Caravella. Can't remember exactly how much it was, maybe around 2700rs. That includes entry and all food and drink. The first time we went was more expensive but included 1000rs of non-redeemable chips. Used to bet with these and get redeemable chips back. We had a decent night first year we went and came off with about £145. Didn't have the same luck in January though and probably lost about that amount!
If I remember right, the boat leaves at around 2030 and you can stay on as long as you like. There's a small shuttle boat that runs to and from the Caravella to bring people back to dock when they've won/lost enough. There's live entertainment on board, usually on the top deck and this is the only part of the ship where photography is allowed.
I'd definitely recommend it, it's a fun night as long as you have a figure in mind that you're prepared to lose.
Have fun.
we had a meal in sher a punjab a few days back. it was excellent, we will recommend this hotel to anyone.
Shere Punjab excellent food tad spicy but good value good service garden eating or air condition if prefered. You will enjoy it. There is also Texas where you can try served by the cowboys, behind Panjim police station 2nd. floor. Stricked No Smoking policy here though.
If you are eating in Panjim try the Horseshoe or Viva Panjim, both do good goan / portugese food.
