Found out last night that my husband cannot travel due to passport problems - he holds a Indian passport etc, etc. So where I thought I was going somewhere with him I'm now on my own. I need a break so thought I would re-vist Tunisia - went to PEK + Sousse etc about 12 years ago. I'm looking for a little relaxation/people watching, going for a gentle stroll, stopping to have tea/cake/lunch. Don't really want hassle of taxi's. Wondering the streets/beach/marina. I would like some hotel entertainment but intend to be in bed with a good book by 11.00, be able to have turkish bath etc. Basically to have these things in the hotel but still be able to wonder. Don't mind which part I go to. It will be in Feb, so weather not that great. Yasmine Beach Hammamet seems quite nice.
So any ideas on hotels/single supplement.
Sorry for rambling, I've upset as I have been looking forward all year to this holiday. Just need to get a little sorted.
Thanks
Incidentally, beware of the meal charge on planes. Airtours charge for meals but usually fly on Nouvelair Tunisie planes, (code BJ) which provide a meal anyway.
I've travelled on my own with Panorama on a couple of occasions and not had to pay ridiculous supplements. It all depends on when you go - in low or even mid season you may find they reduce or drop the supplement just to make sure they sell more rooms. One of the big problems can be that single rooms are often inferior to standard rooms. I managed to get a twin to myself on both occasions. I kept phoning Panorama every few days to check prices and as soon as it dropped booked!! Can be a bit time consuming doing it this way but it's worked well for saving me money.
A.
I usually book through Medhotels, never pay a single supplement and always get a really nice room.
