In several visits to Luxor and several Nile cruises, I have to say that there has been a distinct lack of lots of young children, but there have been several.
At your hotel, you will have the pool and staff who are normally very receptive to young kids. In that respect there should be no problem. Whether visits to ancient tombs, museums or temples will fire their imagination is for you only to decide.
My own view would be, that as we suspect that a lot of the wonders of Egypt will not survive for too much longer, then maybe it's a good idea to let your kids experience them whilst they can?
we took our 2 children to luxor in the summer ,a wonderful place for children,we stayed at the movenpick @ then stayed a night @ the mecure, all the kids want is to go back
Here are some websites for kids which you can look at to fire their interest or to print off some activities they can do as follow ups to the historical sites.
