Another great trip is the tour Veliko Tarnovo, Arbanssi, Gabrovo, Etara, Shipka and Kazanlak. You will cross the Balkan Mountains. Here you can see more about this trip (on side 3):

Apart from its theatre, Festival complex, sea-gardens, Dolphinarium, great museums, Roman baths, huge market, great shopping, and its closeness to the resorts of Golden Sands, St Konstantin and Albena its much like any other large cosmopolitan city.
Patka
have you any more info about the blue mountain trip.
Is it worth a visit to Varna, we went to Bourgas but were not really impressed with it
@Suemackey
I have to say I was not impressed with Varna.
How much time did you spend in Varna? We're still finding more interesting places every year.
Patka
Like Patka, have been going twice a year for many years and I too always find something new in Varna. How much time did you spend in the Cathedral,and the Flower market along side it. did you find the sunken Church and find out the reason why it was built like that, did you Find the Church and School where the Armenian Genocide took place. No doubt in June I will find even more to do. Tonyt
The first time (2003) I saw the Cathedral and the shopping-mile and I visited the show of the dolphins.
The second time (last year) I was there only to see the Thracian treasures:
Nine golden and silver Thracian treasures, among them the most ancient famous treasure in the world were exhibited from 20th May to 20th September 2006 in the Archaeological Museum in Varna. I visited it on 19th of September. It was fantastic. The particular thing about his exhibition was that these nine treasures were shown in one museum while otherwise they were distributed among several Bulgarian museums.
More ancient than the Mycenaean treasure, more ancient than the treasure of Priam from Troye - this is the treasure from tomb ¹1 of the necropolis in Varna, which dated back to 4400- 4200 BC. These golden objects are made before more than 6000 years, and have a common weight of about 8 kilos.
Is here anyone else who had seen this exhibition?
We were there the week before and also visited especially to see the gold.
