Maybe it's closed Paddy until the season starts?
Paddy,
Try a p.m. to either Algarve addick or cubsur - they both live in Albufeira and may know what's happening.

I shall be walking into town later and will go and take a look at the Rocamar on the way!
They were closed for a big refurbishment but had reopened some time back.
Even if closed now shouldn't stop you booking on line unless of course it is sold out for the whole season. http://www.bookings.com lists the Rocamar among it's 61 hotels in Albufeira!

Well it hasn't burned down or anything - people were sitting outside enjoying the sunshine earlier this afternoon.
Minor issue is that steps in front of the hotel that lead down to the beacare currently closed owing to a minor landslip that occurred during storms last November. No sign of an repair work and if not done it means a detour of about 200 yards.
If you don't know the Rocamar it is next to the beach but 100 feet or so above it!

I hate this keyboard! Sorry for typing errors in previous post.
Did you say that the hotel was open as you passed , as I still have not received a reply from my e-mail , and thank you taking the trouble to walk up that way , once again proves the lengths people on this website will go to for fellow travellers , thanks again ..Paddy
Definitely open - and it was no special effort as I was on the way down town in any case. Pleased to be of help.
