Hi Jo,

If you want to see a larger scale map of the area, look at this map, click on More Locations and click a couple of times to the left. You will see Sesmarias a few kilometres to the west of Albufeira.

There are lovely coves all along that part of the coast, or west of Gale there is a very long stretch of sandy beach. There are some very good restaurants in the area but depending on where you are staying you may have to drive or take a taxi to some of them. For the greatest choice of bars and restaurants you might want to go into the Old Town of Albufeira. Have a look at the new Marina - there are a quite a few restaurants and shops open there now, and plenty of boat rides of all types are available there.

Algarve Shopping is a large shopping centre at Guia, with a large multiplex cinema and tenpin bowling. Right next door is the place where Cliff Richard's wine is made and you can take a tour if you're interested in that sort of thing. There are waterparks (Slide and Splash and Aqualand are 2 of them) and also Zoomarine not too far away - buses run to them from Albufeira.

If you're having a car, you're in a very central location and will be able to explore the whole length of the Algarve - although it might take quite a few visits to see everything!

Have a great time! :wave
