Hi all - some beach advice please. We're staying at Lykia in June but would really like to go to a nice soft sandy beach while we're there (esp with 4 year old's bucket and spade). We'll get a taxi from Lykia to Olu so we can have a mooch around the shops, grab a drink etc, but how do we get to the soft sandy bits? Thanks.

Think there are at least three private beaches, we went to sugar and suara, both much better than the main lagoon beach which at certain points is very narrow and therefore crowded.

Although they are free you are expected to buy your drinks, lunch, sunbeds etc there which seems fair as they have to maintain the facilities.

The third beach might be Club Sun Citys so is probably only for their guests.

go to the beach first with the taxi from lykia then jump a lift back to olu there is also genc beach which belongs to nicholas group but anyone can use it
i would say in the hieght of the season as this area now gets very busy the water does look a bit dirty as it is always static with minimal tidal flow i think the best times to vist is may/june and sept/oct but then i am a little selfish as i like it nice and quite

Not sure. It might be worth asking on the Lykia thread as Bridd or Ellie-meg might know.

When I was there last year, standing on the main part of belcekic beach at night I could see Lykia all light up and it looks a bit on it's own, so the free mini buses may not go out there. You may have to get a taxi to olu and then get the mini-pickup.

I know the minibuses wouldn't go there last year - too much aggro from the taxi drivers - or so I was told

yes lally girl the lykia taxis think they are a rule to themselves but you do get a few mini buses going around there maybe they are there own
