hi there, does anybody know if it's ok to vaccinate a child age 2 for yellow fever, hepatitis and also get malaria tablets. We are wanting to go to Kenya on a beach holiday but our little girl will be just 2 when we go.
We took her to the Dominican when she was 4 months without any jabs as we didn't find out till after we booked that babies under 18 doctors don't vaccincate
Any help would be great
I would seriously suggest you contact your doctor/nurse regarding vaccinations for your child re holiday destination - always better to seek professional help in these circumstances.
children age 2 can have yellow fever, hepatitis A and typhoid malaria tablets (malarone) go on the childs weight i work as a practice nurse and come across this all the time but you should contact your own Gp surgery as we all do holiday imms differently the immunisations need to be done at least 4 weeks before you ideally as you may like to stagger then out as she'll need 3 injections
thanks for your reply, all i have to do is convince my mum to go now-(she's not sure about having jabs!)
you've put my mind at rest though
thank you
