I will be in Vegas from 7th to 14th of Feb. We are not gamblers at all, the most we will do is have a go on a few slot machines because to be honest I never win.

I will let you know on my return how Vegas was for a non gambler.

Hi McGroogle

We are going to LV on the 8th February for 7 nighs (the first time for us) and we don't gamble at all. My husband wants to try few rounds of Blackjack but that's all.
We want to see some shows - we already booked tickets to see Elton John :D I am so excited!!!
We planned so many things to do and see so I only hope that 7 days will be enough!

My partner is a non gambler and he absolutely loves Vegas. so much so that we are going for four weeks this November AND are looking for cheap flights for May too.

You definitely don't need to gamble to have a good time in Vegas.

Myself and my partner went to Vegas last year, it is fantastic, it is out of this world, we are not big gamblers, but there is so much to do that you dont have to gamble.. loads of shows, films, discos, dinner.. everything you could wish for... there is gambling everywhere you go, but its fantastic just to see it.. enjoy every minute....

We're not really gamblers as in, we don't play the tables only the slots. We've been 5 times and will be going back twice this year. There's plenty to keep you going for a week between shows, buffets, eating out, visting the casinos, shopping, etc.

McGroogle, we aren't gamblers and love Vegas. We spend maybe an hour at the end of the day doing slots, the rest is soaking up the atmosphere ,sights and shows.

We'd say 5 days will be ideal for your first time.

Where are you staying and which shows will you be doing?

Have a great time.

Thanks everyone for the replies - the right answer's that i was looking for.

H&H - i have only just started to research this holiday. Since I've been with HT i've researched and been to Turkey and Goa, booked for Egypt - Nile for this year and will be doing Thailand and Las Vegas next year.

So I will be trawling through the forum over the next few weeks, gleaning information as you do. So if you have any tip's it would be great to get them.

One thing that you could answer is what budget i should be looking at for the 5 days. Taking into account trips, shows and a bit of shopping (not for me by the way - the missus).

Thanks.

McGroogle, planning's as much fun as the holiday isn't it? :-)

Hilda books all our trips DIY so I'm not much use on costs ( I learned not to ask a long time ago ! :-) )

We tend to eat on the go mostly in Vegas - fast food and buffets - and it can be done for around 7-10$ per person easy.
Try Ellis Island for the cheapest steak dinner in town - and it's worth the effort and much more than the $5 they'll charge you.
Allow $100 - $200 for nicer restuarant meals, depending on your tastes and style.

Shows tend to be around $80+ pp but ,again will vary on your taste. You can get revue and matinee shows fairly cheaply but will pay the earth for Celine or Elton.

The typical tours - Grand Canyon, Red Rock, Hoover and Lake Mead etc will vary on the length of tour and mode of transport.

I'm never comfortable posting links to other sites on a forum so will PM you with soem we use for research later (if that's OK with you) .

Have fun planning.

Note that these would be off strip at say the Gold Coast or Orleans. Buffets on the strip start at around $13-14 for breakfast up to $34 for dinner buffet at the Wynn.

Hi McGroogle,

Me and my husband we have visited LV 5 times (been to westcoast USA mostly) and we are both not a "big gamlers", ok we have bet a little in the slotmachines but it's just for fun.

All I can say that I know that you will have a great stay in LV. Our favorit hotel is Mandalay Bay, a very beautiful hotel, especially the poolarea!

Then just a few min south of the strip you have a outlet, I can remember the name on it right now but it's a nice one and just north of LV you another outlet, but I have never been there.

One thing that is very nice to do is in the evening go up in the Stratosphere tower, you will have a wondeful view over LV....

Hope that this would help a little, don't hesitate to pm me if you have more questions

Have a great day!

looks like there's something for everyone.

I know my daughter and I did lots of shopping-and just sampling the buffets in the casinos.

I wish we had made more of the surrounding area-maybe another trip is due.

But it was all good fun.
