Hi everyone,
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I really don't know where to choose for this year's holiday. I will be travelling with my boyfriend in late July/ August. We want somewhere hot with plenty of things to do and nice beaches. We don't like clubbing or areas full of loud yobs.
We went to Tenerife last year and stayed in Los Cristianos and really enjoyed it. We also stayed in Salou (quiet end) and enjoyed that too.
Any ideas for this year? I have looked at Palma Nova in Majorca (hoping it's not like Magaluf) but can't find a hotel that I like. Hope I don't sound too fussy!!
Thanks everyone!
I you dont fancy Portugal how about one of the Greek Islands? Lots of info on the Greece Forum and the Crete and Rhodes Forums. Also very hot and flights between 3 and 4 hours.
Also, I'm sure other people will suggest this anyway, but how about Olu Deniz in Turkey? We went there last August - it was VERY hot! It's a small resort, catering mainly for couples and families, with a nice selection of bars and restaurants, and some good boat trips and you can even go paragliding from the mountain overlooking the resort if you're feeling brave
If you are still considering Palma Nova you might take a look at the Sol Cala Blanca- we thought it was the nicest hotel we had stayed at in Majorca. Great position, right on the beach. No rowdy kids (or adults!). Nice outside dining area, and the entertainment was ok. We had a room overlooking the street at the front of the hotel, and would have preferred a sea view room, as the street was not a great view! It was a few years ago that we stayed there, but we called in there last year, and it still looked very good. Palma Nova is a nice resort- a bit built up, but lots of facilities, and the beach is still quite pretty.
You might want to try Puerto Pollensa in Mallorca. We go there every year. Its a very traditional resort with no high rise buildings, just a lovely promenade with restaurants, smart bars and some nice pubs. it has a huge beach where you can always find a quite spot. Also its never over run with tourists. Cant reccomend a hotel as we always book a private villa which sometimes works out cheaper.
Although Palma Nova isn't quite Magaluf it is very close and many of the Magaluf crowd will be staying there at that time! It's still lovely, but so is Magaluf! Just will probably be a fair few young lads and lasses about!
