We went last year at the end of September and the weather was not too bad. There was more rain than usual (we normally go in December). Instead of it raining for about 30 minutes a day, it rained for a couple of hours per day.

Please do remember though that September is in the hurricane season.

Thanks for your reply :D have taken a look at your website and it's really helpful, thanks!

Late September is the only time that we can both take off work unfortunately so think we will have to think about changing our plans if it's going to rain alot? Am torn though as it looks so lovely!

we have been early October and did get some rain but it certainly didn't put me off. A positive is that as it is low season hotel rates are a lot lower. Barbados is a beautiful island. We were in Antigua in August which has a far higher rainfall than Barbados ( sept), had a great time and just chilled out in a beach bar when it rained. YOu would be unlucky if it rained for longer than a couple of hours.

Thanks for your replies, I think we're going to try and book it tonight :D bit of a random question..but do you get many jellyfish here? not that it would put me off going but just so I know whether to be careful in the sea when paddling!!

We stayed at the Tropical Escape and thats coming out a good deal with http://www.firstchoice.co.uk for around the 1Oth September.

We were told that Antigua was the driest of the islands and so far thats been proven twice now.
We have had much more rain in Barbados both times than in the 3 times to Antigua

January in Barbados done nothing but rain , some days all day.

Another island that is suppose to be out of the hurrican belt so less rain is Grenada I know they got hit a couple of years back but histroicaly it is safer and IMHO the best of the islands

Hi Fiona

We're looking at the silver sands resort because without the deals we wouldn't be able to afford the Carribean so we're pretty limited by price and time off work to where we can go and when etc. I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to jellyfish!

The hotel has good reports. I do know it is a bit out of the way but easy enough to get to the Gap at night. Make sure you go to Oistins on Friday night. Its a great night- locals and holidaymakers party together. Stalls are set up where the catch of the day is fried- and it is delicious :D

Thanks for the tip! is it easy enough to get a taxi back from later on?
