Hi,im new on here my sister and i are thinking of going to almeria this year a change from the greek islands,we have noticed in this years brochures there is no smoking in hotels, bars+resturants, can anybody tell me does this include outdoor premises?
If it does i think we will have to look elsewhere.
Thank you for any replies on thi subject.
Dot.
I think you will find that its only inside that you cant smoke so if you sit outside on the terrace you will be alright but im sure a smoke will let you know.
i may well be wrong though, but thats what i was told

It was banned in public buildings like offices, libraries, hospitals, restaraunts/bars and transport etc etc.
However, there were certain exclusions within the law.
If a bar is 100 sq mtrs or less, then they had to go either smoking or no-smoking and to comply with the law, a sign no smaller than A3 has to be displayed on the door of the premises.
If a bar is more than 100sq mtrs, then if they chose to allow smoking, it has to be in a section that is separate from the no-smoking section and complies within the law on certain issues,EG, non smokers must not have to walk through the smoking area to go to the toilet.
Some hotels have made a designated area for smokers, but this depends on the design of the hotel and the hotel group policy.
Many have not...and have gone totally no smoking.
You can still puff away until your hearts content outside...

Thats right and most bars and restaurants have outside areas that are heated during colder weather.
Most bars and many restaurants (Especially the Spanish ones) in this area are flaunting the laws and have smoking areas which are parted by screens etc.A complete waste of time for non smoking people that want to get away from it ,but of course they have a choice of where they go.There are also many bars and restaurants that do stick to the law.John.
