I would assume that it is in effect a discount due to the size of the booking.

I would be interested to see what the overall cost would be if everyone booked separate, taking advantage of all he various offers that are made.

Some years ago a company I worked for agreed a discount for staff on holidays booked via a particular company. I was told by people I worked with that, even with the discount, they could get better deals on the high street.

I organised a trip that had free places involved and what was done to make sure everyone paid the same was total up how much the holiday costs for thirty people then take the cost off for two then divide again by thirty this way all pay the same and everyone benefits from the two free places. eg

Holiday cost £300 pp X 30 = £9000
two free £300 pp X 2 = £ 600
New total cost = £8400
Total pp £8400 / 30 = £280

I found this to be fairer that the lead name getting all the benefits but then that depends on the lead name I suppose.

i organised a trip last year for 11 of us with Thomsons, and there was a free place involved in that..and me being me and being fair, i passed the discount on to everyone. I would expect the lead name on the party to do this for us. I just wondered how it worked..thanks for replying.
