Hi

Hate metric also!! 297 mm equals 11.69289 inches. So not a lot spread over 31 days but if it all falls at once it probably equates to a monsoon!!

I'm a firm believer in going to the website of the countries meteorolgical service (My dad was a met man so I have to :) )

Check out the figures for Kota Kinabalu...average 17 rain days in August. We visited in Feb, one of the dryer months but we still managed to see loads of rain.

Thanks for your replies, next year will be the first holiday without my Mum and Dad and elder daughter. So i wanted to go somewhere special for my younger daughter and i know she will love the Orang Utan sanctuary next door.
