Carvajal is a stop between Torremuelle and Torreblanca on the line to Fuengirola. Its a residential area, if anything there are just small bars here no night clubs as far as I know.
It lacks a supermarket of any meaningful size, but a short walk (no more than 10-15 minutes, dependent of how near you are Torreblanca) will remedy that.
Carvajal is not a place to be if you crave the bright lights and "biz" on holiday, but an ideal spot if you want to switch off and enjoy the quiet life. I'd stay there in a flash!

Having not walked to either resort, but just going by memory of distance by bus,Id say Fuengirol would be nearest but Id guess that would take at least 30 mins if not more,Benalmadena I guess would take an hour, mainly uphill untill you get to Torrequebrada.

You'll find Caravajal mentioned in the last two squares bottom row on the right.
My family and I stayed at the Holiday Village apartments which are outside Fuengirola, further on than Caravajal and we walked to the outskirts of Fuengirola in about 20 minutes. There is no way we would have attempted to walked to Benalmadena, much too far and along a very busy road.
Edit to reduce size of url as it was streching the page. allmen
You can get some idea of the distance from Fuengirola centre on this map: - You'll find Caravajal mentioned in the last two squares bottom row on the right.

Carvajal is IN Fuengirola, starting bang on the boundary with Benalmadena. The actual resort of Benalmadena is miles away, and would take at least two hours to walk to. Walking from the furthest point of Carvajal (directly in front of the Esso garage, where Fuengirola and Benalmadena meet) to Fuengirola Marina took this half-fit holidaymaker less than an hour.
