It is, if I say anymore you wont get the OH MY GOD WOW factor when you step into the entrance

Hmmm  I wouldn't call it that :!: We were there about 3 weeks ago, having just left 'East meets West' (overated) and got 'flyed' by this guy standing outside. "Ok", we said, "We'll have a look" So, up the winding alley we went to be greeted at the door by the, very polite, door attendant. Ok, so far. Then - we got inside. Now, the concept is good, but the 'blurb' about being able to see the sea, is straining the truth. If you squint through the palms, you may just get a glimpse - and this was from the ...er...high-up-bar, as we prefer to call it, because it's up in the 'gods'.

Overall? It's just scatter cushions, overpriced drinks and interminable trance music....zzzzz. Spoke to one of the attendants, and it seems they're after the "Club Cubana' crowd, WITHOUT the rowdy element"

it's set out very nice, its also a nice place to have one drink and chat with friends without being smoked out.

Sounds good i'll take a look. Where is it from titos??

It is a beautiful place - and it does make a nice change. This is the place where the construction men were killed a few months ago when one of the walls collapsed on top of them.

If you turn left at the top of Tito's lane onto Baga Road the little winding path is a few metres on the left (towards apple pie restaurant).

PS has anyone tried SHIRO the new place at the Marquis Beach Resort - it's also supposed to be stunning.

Is on the rocks still open? it sound quite like the same sort of place, so just wondering if it was busy enough to last a season.

Yes Martin it's still open but because of the 10pm music law they can't play music outside only in the soundproofed section of the club.

Is it just me, or do other people think that all these grand fancy new places are not really what we want Goa to be all about. Shiro, for example, looks good and is very comfortable, but it has basically spoilt what used to be the best garden-leading-onto-the-beach in North Goa, at Marquis Beach Resort. The construction process certainly ruined many of my relaxing Sunday afternoons under a palm tree. What about some more of the small, simple, peaceful places that Goa used to be so good at. Yes, i know, it's progress, but at what cost?

Phil, I tend to agree with you. I like a bit of variety wjhen I'm in Goa, and what Iliek is that you can have peaceful and a bit of a bight out if you fancy it. However with more of these places opening up, the peaceful part may be being erroded.

One of my favourite pastimes in Goa is sitting in Bharats with a drink and chatting to everyone while watching the world go by. Maybe I'm just getting old though!

I guess you can't stop people trying to make better and better bars and restaurants but I agree that some of the best are nowhere near the smartest. It's like over here - how many good old geezers pubs have been ruined to make a temporary "in" place for young people with cash. It's capitalism but it doesn't always suit us old codgers.

A good perch in Bharats is a great place to watch all the mayhem and chaos whilst savouring a Honeybee or Kings! Toilets a bit dodgy, though!
