We are going to Salou at the end of May, two adults annd one child aged 8yrs. We are staying at the Hotel Punta Dorada Princss, in Cap Salou.

Has anyone stayed here? I would appreciate it if someone could possibly give me some answers tp the following questions

1. How far is the hotel to Salou resort centre and La Pineda
2. How far and directions please to Port Aventura
3. ANy good places to take kids (we are hiring a car so a drive will be no problem)

I have been to Salou resort before about 5 years ago, my son was taken by the First Choice reps to a place called Cheeky Monkeys or Powder Monkeys which was like a big soft play warehouse somewhere outside salou for a whole day. Does anyone know if this is still open and if it is, where abouts it is, so we can take him ourselves. Is Fort Apache on the sea front still open (v small soft play area)?

There was also a family pub called the Rovers Return down a some steps on a cliff. This had some fantastic shows on. (the polyanisian night was my fav - they made my ex dress in a nappie and dance, very funny) Was run by some scottish blokes. My son loved it there. Kid competitions everynight and bubbles coming from the ceiling every hour signaled that it was time for the kids to get up for a free lolly pop. Does anyone know if its still there and as good as I remember it.
