Hi, my husband and I booked in September last year through the airtours website to go to the Punta Cana Princess in the DR. We are due to go this September, but would like toknow the opinions of any folks from the UK having travelled/stayed their recently. The only online reviews that are recent (this year) are all by americans/canadians with their own slant on the packages they were sold. This makes it hard then to compare to our package. We also wondered if we would still get Tour Operator representation in resort - particuarly as it appears that no major UK tour operator has sold this hotel for some time - I've tried speaking to Thomas Cook (since the merger) but the operator was unable to shed light on a hotel that's not sold!!
Whilst we are looking forward to the adults only element of the resort, we are seriously wondering if we should bite the bullet and change to a hotel that is more "main stream" - we wouldn't want to risk being caught in adverse weather etc with no tour operator support (especially given the time of year).
Any views/opinions or advice on this would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks
if anyone can please help, please do so!
I can't understand why Airtours/Thomas Cook can't advise on something as simple as to whether they have a rep in resort but as they have both of the other hotels in this group in their brochure I can't see they won't have.
We are off to the Tropical Princess in Sept so we might bump into you on the beach.
