Yes I think a week in Goa and 2 weeks around and about Diu would be just nice..... Will be hunting down more info!
`Don't want to sound cheeky but isn't Diu in the Arabic Sea? Post moved to Indian Ocean!
Dui is lovely. Very few foreigners go there - most tourists are from the surrounding state of Gujarat, taking advantage of the fact that alcohol is cheaply available in Diu (Gujarat is dry). There is a small town with an oLd fort, a long beach, and a couple of low key resorts with swimming pools. I can recommend Hotel Kohinoor. The best way to get around the island is to hire a bicycle. There is a small airport with daily flights to and from Bombay with Jet Airways By Indian standards it is a very quiet place.

Yes indeed, maybe the moderators should check a map
Maybe its better moved anyway, dont want everyone to know about this place
This is a combined India and Indian Ocean forum. It was moved to the India forum because, upon checking a map, I found that Diu was not in Goa
somehow not able to see my post, perhaps I quoted some websites inside my message(to help members to get a broader idea of it)may be a culprit of it.
Ok,forget my old post. Here is a small intro of Diu which I have visited more than 20 times (I think).
*Replica of Goa but smaller and more peaceful, still vargin in my opinion for foreigners.
*Go there during non Indian festival time to save yourself from Crowd.
*World famous Gir forest of Asian Lions is just 60 kms far from Diu.
*People are very helpful to foreigners in my opinion and there are plenty of hotels to choose from.
*The best thing is to choose Bombay as a hub and one can visit Goa n Diu in alternation.
*Flights from Bombay to Diu is also available on alternate day if I am right if not than there is also a daily flight for Bhavnagar from Mumbai which takes just an hour and Diu is just 180 Kms from Bhavnagar by road.Diu has one of the best air port with lot of scenic views located just on the Nogoa beach,a treat to watch.
*Just google "ice cream in diu" and you will see how people love Diu during their visit, those who visit it once come often there, cheaper to Goa.
*If any member need any help I shall try my best to help them.I love Goa and Diu both and it is my dream that I can visit both of them atleast once in two year in my life.
