Well malta is one of the few places i'm considering going for our summer holiday, me and my partner were thinking of heading off between 03rd july and the 10th and just wondering what temperatures I might expect this early in July? Also we're thinking of staying at the Plaza Regency Hotel, wondering if anyone could give me any info on the hotel and local area?
Kind Regards
Richard
Hi Richard, the hotel is 3 star but is quite ok, nice and clean and in a pretty good area on Tower Road facing the sea, you have quite a few local bars and some places to eat, but if you decide to go let me know and I will give you afull low down on the area.
To be honest silema I think to be honest it's the strongest contender so far, so any info you could give me would be great! As for the hotel, as long as it meets are basic needs and has a swimming pool thats all that matters to me
Also sliemma, just so you have some info on myself and my partner, we're both young, 22 and 20, however we're not really into the standard british going abroad to get drunk on holiday! We like to relax but we also like to get ourself wrapped up in the culture and history of the country, and sampling the local food specialities (my girlfriend being a vegie, this is sometimes a bit harder to do).
Reviews of the hotal can be found on the following link
I'm sure this has been posted above on one of the links but may be useful for you :- http://www.visitmalta.com/main
The weather will be hot and sunny. 70-80f
The wife and I stayed at this hotel last May and found it more than acceptable.
We did spoil ourselves and opt for a room with balcony and view out over spinola/ballutta bays that was so good we couldnt bring ourselves to draw the curtains at night.
The pool on the roof was fine and hardly used...mainly I think because its so hot outside that when you get in it really does feel icy but a bit of courage and you're 7 floors up looking at a blue sky and wondering how it can get better.
We only took breakfast at the hotel but if this was anything to go by you really couldnt go wrong.
Beneath the regency is the metz restuarant owned by Edward and his wife,a very charming friendly couple who offer a fine selection of foods.
Bus stops right outside going both ways, offering the only way to travel round Malta!
Opposite are two lovelly bar cafes , ideal for that afternoon drink and snack.
As you go out the hotel face the sea and head right along the road and you will see a childrens play park below you, situate yourself on the pavement above in front of the red helicopter and wave at the building opposite (language school) and we will all see you on the web cam.
Walk to the left from the hotel around to the glorious Spinola bay. Here you will find many restuarants to choose from and I must recommend Papparazzi overlooking the bay,a favourite of ours.
Further up from Spinola and you enter Paceville the clubbing area great on Saturdays and Wednesdays ...really buzzing.
You have to go to Il merill restuarant at least once not only to taste the excellent food but to meet Vince , his wife and son, perfect hosts and you will not want to leave.
Sliema 2 will fill you in on everything else you need to know......he is an absolute encyclopedia of Malta.
I hope you have a great time.
When am I going to return..............I miss everything so much.
Alan.
Thank you Alan, if Richard wants to ask me a few things then post then here and I will endevour to answer them for him.
