Its my first time in Turkey, staying in Icemeler at the end of September. Private aprtments (blue star)I have had a good mooch around the forum and have had most of my questions answered. Just a couple of questions.....Can anybody tell me:
Are there local supermarkets, and can I buy local produce although we will be eating out, I love to buy and cook traditional food.?
Can I buy bottled spirits, Somebody told me that Vodka was rare and expensive???

There is a big supermarket called Tansas and lots of local ones dotted around Icmeler.
Buy you spirits at the airport when you arrive at Dalaman, its a lot cheaper

Don't forget to go to the weekly market also to buy fresh veg, olive, cheese etc, the local bread is gorgeous, you will have a great time.

yes I will definitely go ...I have been told its on a wednesday. I intend to have agreat time!!!. I go away twice a year and for no reson, have never considered turkey.Since i have booked and mentioned it to people...its amazing how many people go and love it.

I'm off on the 21st of september...does it start to cool off by then. Oh and do you know of the blue star apartments? Where are you staying?
They are not private apartments btw as they are sold by my company and also others but you will enjoy yourself there and that is for certain

Still hot but pleasant at that time I arrive in Icmeler on the 21st as well going to Dalyan for a week first. I have been going to Icmeler for 12 years now and thought I should give somewhere else a try but I love Icmeler too much to miss going there as well.
I am staying at the Devamli its a lovely hotel at the top of the canal
We are in their Sports Bar at the end of most evenings their music its not that thump thump music you get in a lot of the bars. If you are passing pop in.

I am going on 24th Sept, I go the big Tansas but also like to use the little shops around the place.
The weather us usually lovely by then, you might get a spot of rain or cloud but it just makes for a better Efes in the local bars

Yes I have looked at that website its looks great. I dont mind about the weather as long as its warm ...i can live with alittle bit of rain.... if I must. I assume the efos?? is the local drink ...so Ill have to try one.

Its amazing the people you meet on hols through this site and the Icmeler on line one its like meeting old friends.
My hubby was wondering last year how complete strangers were coming up to us and asking if we were Ged and Lynn he didnt know I use these sites.
