Horizon have been out there and are attempting to nail it up. Lots of Russian money out there. The Italians are trying to squeeze in too.

Hi Jane, Have they started flights from the UK yet?

I looked (very briefly) into Cape Verde last year but there were no direct flights from the UK.

I have sent you a PM

Direct flights from November, I understand, to Sal from Manchester and Gatwick, and Santiago from Birmingham.

Not trying to "nail it up" at all !!! Just doing our job!!!

Anyone interested can look at our main web page, from which we have a link to our Cape Verde one.

As far as developers are concerned, Tecnicil are the best in the area. We deal with them, of course - we'd be idiots not to !

Well, now you can fly direct from England, the prices have started going up.
I take it that Sal is the best island to buy on, but what would you say is the best value for money island ? Do you spend more for a place on Sal or do you go for one of the other islands and have to wait a bit longer for the holiday trade to catch up.

Boa Vista and Sao Vicente will offer good value for money, perhaps particularly Sao Vicente because their airport is still only offering internal flights. When it becomes international, probably in three years or so, prices will probably soar.

Sal, though, for my money, is much more geared up for tourism, and prices aren't sufficiently "loaded" to discourage. Depends what you're looking for, really.

Hi all,We are heading to Sal on Monday for an inspection trip, looking at the Villa Verde development.
Although we are keen to invest abroad we are still a bit unsure as to how Cape Verde will take off as regards to tourism.
I think if it does well in the next couple of years then yes it will turn into a great investment but if not then we could be seriously out of pocket.
Any other bits of info would be greatly recieved, cheers Mark

Did you hear about the Italian girls getting killed. I take it that everything has cooled off now and Cape Verde still looks as good a place to buy a holiday home.

Yes I heard about the girl who was raped and stoned to death, just because its cheap it doesn't equate with good value.

We have just returned from Sal and have to say we were quite impressed.
Yes it is fairly basic but the situation can only improve.
The Dutch, germans, italians, french and many other nationalities all seem to enjoy it.If you go there with an open mind and a bit of foresight then I'm sure you will enjoy the island and what they have/will have to offer.
We have bought a 2 bed apt in the villa-verde development and they will have some great facilities on offer.
Nearly every development that you buy abroad has an element of risk just depends if you are willing to take that risk.
