apart from the new enlarged facilities at luton [they took over some of the vauxhall factory car park after the closures] there is only municipal parking around town that will be a lot more expensive.....
i dont know how far you have to go to get to luton but one option may be 2x one way car hire no worries about your car..or even rail [courtesy bus runs from luton parkway o the airport

Take a look at Holiday Extras - they are cheaper.
Son of Homer, it costs £59 for 2 weeks parking in May at Luton Airparks services. Their car park is 4 miles from the airport with a 24-hour courtesy bus transfer. You can book it via the Holidayextras link that Pippa suggested below.
Thanks for the advice, but decided to book direct with NCP in the end. Got into the short stay car park for £75 for 2 weeks which wasn't so bad. It is also within walking distance of the terminal which will be easier as we have a 2 year old.
also, where do i get the transfer bus at the station to get to the airport.
thanks in advance.
YES especialy during peak commuting times so give yourself a bit of extra time
I assume you mean Luton Parkway Not Luton Town station

Having a hired car - one way drop off - I was astounded to see that there is just one petrol station - not well sign posted - admittedly relatively close to car returns area however the q's were like during a petrol shortage or strike action a few years ago.
The airport itself land side makes even Gibraltar look classy and security was just - well lets say frustrating at best.
IU shall never use this airport again by choice and I hope that all passengers having to use this place and put up with the horrendous road works have their happy pills with them!

looking at the ncp website for prices for their luton car parks..the short term stay car park which is right next to the terminal is the same price as the mid term car park and cheaper than the long term.....i booked the short term of course..hope its not a cock-up on their system....
I'm flying from Luton on Sunday travelling down from the Midlands, can anyone confirm the best route bearing in mind the road works. Is it still ok to get off the M1 at junction 10
im looking to book parking at luton for a week in oct and the prices seem more than i expected for out of the main season does anyone know of any reasonably priced parking at luton airport thanks
Not sure what prices you have been quoted, £45 for 8 nights with code for long term car park instead of £63.
no havent tried that thanks will try thanks
just to say thanks for that code it saved me £7 on the parking at luton but not for east mids and birmingham i also needed, but better than nothing lol
Hubby and I have been through Luton on 2 holidays. Last time was back in February 05 and I thought it was ok, parts of it were still being done up, no problems at security. Not many shops landside, the cafe was ok. airside shops are your usual world shopping (duty free), dixons and a few others. Don't know what it's like now the revamp has finished though.
We are travelling 16/10/07 to 25/10/07, the cheapest I have seen is £47, however, it is an NCP car park and I am not sure If I would be happy leaving them there, the site is managed centrally somewhere is. Other than that the next price is £60, is this reasonable?
Any ideas would be really appreciated.
Thank you.
Sue
Well I am back looking for parking at Luton again this year. I paid £75 for 2 weeks in May last year in the short term car park which in the end seemed like a good deal, and have now been quoted £102 for 2 weeks in April this year. Quite how this airport can manage to apply 40% inflation in 12 months is beyond me. Especially bearing in mind the car park isnt even properly tarmaced. With inflation like that I should be parking on gold.
anyone got a promotional code for ncp at luton?
Luton Airport is to introduce a non-refundable luggage trolley charge of £1, as from 26 July. That news may not quite merit the 'holiday misery for passengers' headline that some papers are giving it, but just mentioning so that you have your £1 coins available when travelling to/from Luton.
Not worried about a tenner here or there. Been quoted £41 for a week through Portland which is cheap as chips but don't want to be travelling from Dunstable!
Offsite parking at Luton (when we have used it) usually takes approx. 15mins to transfer, car park-airport, but we usually allow a good 40mins in all as the transfer bus sometimes waits to fill up a bit with passengers.
