Nok air now fly to Krabi........there is a flight at 16.35 for 577 bahts + tax but price will depend on when he wants to return.
Go to http://www.nokair.com
Hope this helps.
Pat
you're an angel Pat! Many thanks!
If your son is flying into the new Bangkok airport he may have trouble making connection. Might be worth checking just which airlines will be flying from which Bangkok airport to Krabi.
AirAsia also fly to Krabi so might be worth checking out as well. Then of course Thai Airways who probably won't have moved from the new airport.
http://www.airasia.com they fly about 17.00 for about the same price....I flew with them from Bangkok to Chiang Mai return with no probs.
You can also go with http://www.thaiair.com but they are dearer as are http://www.fly12go.com
Hope this helps

He's code was confusing though He rung direct to Bangkok in the end and YES it IS going from the New Bangkok Airport. Phew!
Was also told that you have to allow a good 2 hours between the 2 airports
Nice work you guys!
Just wanted to know how reliable fly12go is generally in terms of keeping to schedule..we are taking a 15:15 flight from Surat Thani to Bangkok (one hour ten mins ) and our international flight out of Bangkok leaves at 23:30..are we cutting it too fine?
I'd check what airport your domestic flight will arrive in. THINK it might be the OLD Bangkok airport - as far as I know only AirAsia are flying into the NEW airport - where your International flight will leave from. Its approx 2 hour transfer from Old Bangkok aiport to the new one..so I've been told.
From Don Muang - old airport (New Code DMK)
* One-Two-GO (Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Hat Yai, Krabi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phuket, Surat Thani)
* Thai Airways International (Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, HatYai, Khon Kaen, Krabi, Mae Hong Son, Phitsanulok, Phuket, Surat Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani)
* Nok Air (Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, Krabi, Loei, Mae Hong Son, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phuket, Trang, Udon Thani)
From Suvarnabhumi (BKK).
* Thai AirAsia (All flights)
* Bangkok Airways (All flights)
* Nok Air (Hua Hin & Krabi)
* PBAir (All Flights)
* SGA Airlines (Hua Hin)
* Thai Airways International (Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Krabi, Phuket)
So Thai Airways and NokAir have flights that depart from both airports.
Thai Airways are keeping the key connecting domestic flights that connect with international flights from Suvarnabhumi (Phuket, Krabi etc).
My personal opinion? If at all possible fly Bangkok Airways wherever! I've flown they tonnes of times, reliable and cheap. My last flight from Samui to Phuket arrived before it was supposed to depart
round trip for two works out to abt 13000 THB compared to 3200 THB by fly12go, the drawback being the extra to and fro ferry between Surat Thani to Koh Samui..since we are on very tight budgets, the 10000 THB saved is well received..
So, are these prices for real and since they're so low how reliable is the airline?
Cheers!
Thanks AWOL and Sam, Bangkok Airways was my first choice but the So, are these prices for real and since they're so low how reliable is the airline?

So, you ferry across from Koh Samui, to Surat Thani, to Old Bangkok Airport, then to New Bangkok Airport for your international flight?
I wouldn't do it - too many variables, i've heard mixed things about 1-2-go, and if the flight goes 'tech' you're proverbially .
To keep the costs minimal, why not fly to Surat Thani, when you have all the time in the world, and then fly back from Koh Samui on Bangkok Airways? They are very reliable, fly to the correct airport to connect with your international flight, and if there's a problem with your flight - they have another one every couple of hours.
Personally I stick Bangkok at the end of my visits these days,it makes the whole slog back to the UK a lot less stressful, no hanging around airports waiting to connect or transferring between old and new airports.
same here!
Bagaddict - if on a tight budget, have you considered the train??
We got a train last year to Hua Hin - there were several people travelling on to Koh Samui.
It was a great experience and one we would do again.
I know the journey is long but there is alot to see.
or you could do an overnight journey and book a first class sleeper (approx 20 pounds per person including ferry fare).
debs81 -The train seems like a good option, but we're booked in Koh Phangan until the morning of the same day we fly out from bangkok so we have no time for the train journey.
Just two more question..our Bangkok Airways flight is scheduled to land in BKK at 14:20 and our international flight out is at 23:35..is there enough time between our flights to spend a few hours at Chatuchuk market considering traffic in Bangkok and checkin time? Secondly, is there a safe deposit option at the airport where we can park our backpacks when we visit the city?
Many thanks.
However - who are flying with? (BA or Qantas at a guess??) - If it's Thai you'll be able to check-in, smaller chance with someone else, but try and do that so you have your boarding pass, and have got rid of your big bags.
But I remember Chatucak Market being a (weekend) morning market? Maybe i'm wrong. I'm not too familiar with the local area of the new airport, but the roads are a lot quicker I noticed, and I sped into town in half an hour (not rush hour - and in a taxi). So if I was you, I'd probably plan a trip somewhere. Be flexible, as well! And get a taxi back!!!
The new airport is incredibly dull. Pretty though.
Sorry for being a pest, but just a couple of questions again: what is the cheapest and quickest way to get to Khao San road from the new airport? and secondly, how far is Don Muaeng from Khao San road..for a 9:50 am flight what time should we getting a move on? Thanks
Cheers
There is a bus service from the airport to khao san with a few stops before.You'll need to allow at least an hour to get there
good luck
