Hi
My wife and I want to go to the Lake District for a short break. I am in a wheelchair and we are looking for self catering accommodation. Anybody know anywhere good to stay Would be grateful for any advice
http://www.careinthecountryside.net they have 7 properties listed under Cumbria. The only problem you may find with self catering cottages is some of them don`t do short breaks only weekly stays. Best of luck!
Hello legless, Have a look at
http://www.accessatlast.com
has 3 properties in their cumbria section
Irton in the lakes (Self Catering)
Cockermouth
Irton is set in 240 acres of pasture and woodland and commands probably one of the finest views to be found in the Northern Lakes. There are 5 cottages, all with level access showers.
The Bark Cottage (Self Catering)
Lowick Green
The Cottage is a self contained two bedroom apartment, comprising the whole of the bottom floor of what used to be the barn of the old Lowick Tannery.
Deloraine Holiday Homes (Self Catering)
Windermere
Deloraine Holiday Homes is situated in the heart of the beautiful Lake District. This spacious Edwardian country house and Lakeland Cottage stand secluded above Lake Windermere in 1.7 privately owned landscaped acres. Birch cottage has a level access shower.
