If you go into the old town and go down past the Bull ring it takes you to Cala de Morro beach (I think its caled that). It`s a small cove near the Panoramic hotel. We stayed here years ago we had a very enjoyable holiday here. If you do go pop into the Red Rum bar run bu Elaine x Barnsley and Jose her Spainish husband, we spent each night here and had some fabulous meals.

Bacarres is the name of the area, cala de morro is in Ibiza.

The main beach in Puerto Alcudia is that long that you can get different "beaches" in one - if you see what I mean. For instance, if you go to Playa de Muro (to the part past the last hotels and before Can Picafort), the beach is a so-called rustic beach which is actually part of the nature park S'Albufera. No beach bars etc but also quite a bit quieter.

In addition to the beach at Barcares there are a couple of other coves near there (north of the old town in the bit known as Mal Pas) called San Pedro and San Juan.

Really the whole northern coastline from Puerto Pollensa to Cala Ratjada has some good beaches and coves, but nothing as big as Alcudia's.
