Well it certainly proves a point that the tastes of the British must come first and foremost.
It also proves that despite what others may want to believe, British tourists are still continuing to visit Benidorm and the percentage has steadily risen.
58.13% in 2006.
56.6% in 2004.
36.0% in 2002......However, I do not know the percentage of what?
A percentage of 2million or 4 million.?

One thing though....you'll not be fighting a German for a sun-bed. :rofl

To be honest it seems that these days its the brits that are up at 7:30 claiming the beds!!!
We tend to stay up till 1 or 2 am and sleep till 9 so if all the beds are taken we say 'sod it' beach will be fine!
Infact i often find myself alone going to breakfast cus my wife and daughter are still sleeping when theres only 20 minutes of breakfast left!
I'm a bit mad on holiday in that i don't want to miss anything so I'm often up till my eyelids are dropping and then I go to bed and fall straight to sleep and then all of a sudden it's morning and holiday again!!! :)
Thing is I'll be 32 next thursday and I must be getting old as my eyelids seem to be dropping earlier and earlier these days! Mind you that might be something to do with the Few JD and cokes i've just had!

I find I'm often very entertained just sitting alone on the balcony watching things going on in the street bellow!

One year we were at the bali hotel (CDS) and there were loads of fireworks going off after midnight, when they finished there was silence so I started clapping and then everybody else joined in with the applause! My wife was like 'what are you doing?'
Good fun ! :)

Yeah, it's quite sad to see people up on "dawn patrol" for a bed, we stopped doing that years ago, we are early risers, but queueing for a bed is not my idea of an holiday, when as you say, there is a perfect beach just down the street.

i like to see the germans put towells on bed in such a way to know if its been touched or moved..ie stones folded ends.chairs.even marked the ground with a pen.one thing i hate is getting a bed and not seeing the person till the last hour of sun.

If I want a bed I take one.No one has ever confronted me about it but if they did I would say ,I asked reception and they told me just to take one as they belong to the hotel and you werent using it!.I always fold their towel neatly and place it on a chair!.

Good on you Jay Trip.
Last year a family of 8 used to reserve 8 beds then sod off till about three pm then only use four of them on returning. (the others were for the kids). After four days of this, hubby got fed up and folded their towels in a neat pile and placed them nearby for other people to use the beds. Not once did they ask who moved them, just picked up the towels and left!
If your gonna leave a towel, okay if your having breakfast but to do anything else is just ignorant.

Rant over

I. like Chivas, like to get up and out early in the morning. I wake early, so have a quick coffee on the balcony, then straight down for a sun bed! This is the best part of the holiday for me. No hubby, no kids, just me and by book! Soooo peaceful! Nice too to have a little chat with the spanish cleaning the pool and around the pool. THEN - you get the family who come down and, despite the warnings about it not being safe to get into the pool before they have finished cleaning it, allow their kids to jump into the pool - and can't understand why they get told off about it!!!!

Love this too - watching one person come down very early (in their nighties!) and reserving beds and then going back to bed! Then, later on, the hotel manager comes round and removes all the towels on beds that haven't been occupied for a while and puts their towels on the nearest wall/table etc. Someone then comes along and puts their towels (and their bodies!) on the sunbeds. Just love to see the 1st occupiers of the beds come down and think that the people on the beds have removed their towels!!!

As for people watching on the balcony - I could do that all day!!!!

Happy Holidays!!!

Hi all, There'e an article in our local paper tonight that I thought might be of interest.

It says that Gerona has become the fastest rising Easter hotspot for Leeds. Bookings are up 110% on last year.

Other holiday destinations that have surged in popularity this Easter include Gran Canaria up 121% Paphos up 67% and Lanzarote up 21%.

Destinations proving less popular this year include the Costa Blanca, down 43% Mallorca down 19% and Tenerife down 4%

Hi Sanji
You asked ' where are you all?'
Well i am in Nerja, and really enjoying being here and
find it more Spanish than lots of resorts.
The hotel Perla Marina is very good.
Is it nearly time for your next visit to Benidorm?

Hi Sanji
Yes we really enjoyed being in the C del Sol, it was a lovely area.
We had an enjoyable Anniversary and celebrated with our family before we went to Spain.
I expect you will be counting the days and hours till you are back in Benidorm!
Our next holiday is in the Costa Brava, going 5 weeks today.
I think our next trip to Benidorm will be in early 2008.
Regards Sue
