i dont know what area would be the better out of the two,as i have never stayed at either resort,my main interest was, could i roll off my sunbed by the pool and end up in the sea,so i think zog was telling me not to book the armutalan area coz i would have to roll off me sunbed get on a dolmus then roll off that 10 minutes later,
Bibbs.. if you want to roll off your sunbed and end up in the sea, then yes zog is right the Amutalan area is no good for you.
There are lots of good Hotels on the beach front of Marmaris....That is the area we like to stay in we are looking at two for this year
Yuvam Hotel or the Maris Beach Hotel.
There some cheap hotels like the Yuvam and there are some expensive hotels like the Elegance Hotel which is half board i believe and they have a great roof top bar!
Link for the Elegance Hotel
http://www.elegancehotel.com/
Which ever you choose i am sure you will have a great time.
thanks,i shall keep an eye on your thread to see any news that you might get,oh and thanks for the link to the elegance, wont be booking that one tho,it reminds me to much of the hotel we have stayed in for the last couple of years, but thanks anyway,
i have sent the hotel an e-mail,but as of yet no reply, spose i must remember that they are working on turkish time, lol,i shall give it till the end of the week then phone them, you say it's best to ask for ali (in the evening )is he the manager there ?,
disregard my last post, the hotel have just replied.
i know your going soon, but have you started working on turkish time too,i expect you to reply almost immediately to my questions, lol,
Unfortunately I have been frequenting the pub over the last day or so, so I was therefore unavailable to answer your questions. I am getting into practise as it is only 32 days until I arrive in Marmaris for my first holiday this year.
I am so happy for you that the Hotel have now answered your email.
What was the price they gave you?
Have you not replied to me yet?
Yours Sincerely,
Mrs Mary Reesy1959
that was formal, but this is how quick i need my replies in future.
yes they got in touch but for some reason they didn't understand when i wanted to go,even tho my e-mail was titled, prices for 2008 please, also mentioned may 2008 in the e-mail,they have asked me to get back in touch with the dates i need then they will send me the prices, they also said to thank you for your recommendation and that they are happy you had a good time, and could you please return the light bulbs you nicked whilst their,
I have already sent them back their lights, so I dont know what they can be talking about
What dates in May are you going, just so I can avoid them
Mary x
dont know the dates as of yet,but it will be in may,but i spose they could be changed once i see your dates,
Let me know when the hotel gets back to you.
Mary x
PS I forgot to say there are hairdryers in the rooms too.
will do,hairdryer ?,did you not look at my hair in the photo,or should i say lack of,getting excited already about next years holiday, and haven't been on this years yet,
just got an e-mail back from the hotel, they have quoted £18 b/b,per person per night, hows that sound,as i stay a.i i dont know if thats about right,
To be honest, I would haggle that a bit, seems a bit steep to me. Just tell them you have had a better deal elsewhere, but if they could lower the price, you would be very interested. I would try for a little less. Interesting to see how lower they would go, as he told me before to let him know the price and he would do a deal.

great tip,i shall give that a go when we return from this years hols, just had a thought,do they do english breakfast,if not i wont bother with b/b,as i'm sure we could get a fry up in many of the other places, theres a good chance we wont make it for most breakfast times anyway, lol,
The English breakfast is not included in the Bed and Breakfast, its continental breakfast only, but they do sell English Breakfast.
i'll try to get the room only basis for £15 pp pn,then pay for my fry up's as and when i make it down for them,
I would try and get it for £15 B+B, its continental breakfast only, but its okay on the odd occassion.
just sent them another e-mail requesting room only prices, once they come back to me with that i shall have both quotes, then i'll stick in a cheeky bid of £15 pp pn bb,i keep forgetting to haggle,it is turkey after all,
We're six 40 somethings (think we're still 20) looking for the same type of holiday as yourselves. Hubby and I have stayed in Gumbet before and had a great hol (1st one without our kids). The only hing that was off putting was the hassle we had in the evenings. We couldn't go for a stroll as people were constantly trying to engage you in conversation in order to get you into their restaurants and bars. Do you know if Mamaris is any better. We enjoy a good few drinks but would prefer to pick our own bars rather than come out of one only to be pressurised into going to the one next door. I know people advise to say a polite No thank you but you even get sick of that after the first 3 or 4 places. Does this happen in Mamaris?
