Last time I was in Turkey was 2005, the year all the prices on alcohol went up. The usual price of a pint of efes was about 3 - 4 lira or £1 - £1-30. We were informed that it was down to extra taxes imposed by the government. What I don't understand is that many of the boat owners were offering the daily trip with lunch and all drinks included for £10. Believe me there was a lot of alcohol consumed on these trips. So, how do they manage tp provide all the drinks, lunch, pay the staff and the upkeep of the boat at that price ? Someone telling porkies ? also if the price hike was down to the government, how come loads of bars were doing happy hours and buy one get one free ?
