Cal'n Bosch I only visited for the day, nice beach. believe more Germans go there. We stayed in Cal'n Forcat. We had a pool stayed at the Los Delfines apartments which were lovely and the pool too, a shallow end where children could just walk into. The beaches there were just little coves. It is more geared up for families, i.e. children. Not the resort we would return to as a older couple. There were areas with childrens rides too.

I have never been to Cala N Forcat myself so cant comment on that resort. I would definitely recommend Cala N Bosch though. We stayed there last year with our then 2 year old.

There are two beaches (one is about a 20 minute walk from the marina which is a nice walk for a child to have an afternoon nap) the other is about 3 minutes from the marina. This beach is very safe - gently shelving into the sea. Life guards on duty.

Almost all of the hotels in the area cater for smaller children. There are loads of restaurants around the marina. All cater for children with plenty of highchairs in all of them. There are no nightclubs but a few of the pubs stay open until 1 or 2 oclock in the morning but there is no noise. The area is very flat so ideal for pushchairs. There is the goody goody park which might be a little too old for your little one but has bouncy castles, a small walk in paddling pool, a soft play area (all of this is free).

We love Cala N Bosch and found it to be very child friendly. As for it being mainly Germans, I would disagree. There is mixed ratio of different nationalities and not more one than another.

Personally, I would avoid the resorts, the ones around cuitadella are very very english, ie english pubs, english sausages etc

Los Delphines is an absolute no no!!! :yuck:

There are lots of lovely resorts on the island, but personally I would not say these are them.

Sorry.........just my opinion

I prefer Cala'n Bosch myself. Most people think it's a pleasant resort and it has a couple of decent beaches whereas the beach at Cala'n Forcat is tiny. It also has the marina which is a pleasant place to eat alfresco and have a drink. For me, no contest really but I would still recommend hiring a car for at least a few days to have a look around this lovely little island. Have a look at the HT Menorca photo gallery for an insight into some of the sights and resorts the island has to offer.

it is all a matter of personel preference but for a family with a young child cala'n forcat/los delfines is ideal. we went in june 2005 with a 2 year old and a 5 year old and found plenty to do. it was that good that we're going back in june (2007)! as for activities/day's out we found the pool at our apartments (talayot for the second time!) or the beach at cala'n blanes is enough to keep really young ones entertained.

Cala'n Forcat struck me as being very un-Menorcan - a jaded holiday resort that got lost. We stayed in Ciutadella last September and walked around to Cala'n Brut and Cala'n Blanes to swim - lots of locals with small children as well as tourists - the coves are small and get crowded, although they post the water quality information on noticeboards and it was always good.

Various relatives have stayed in Cala'n Bosc and enjoyed it thoroughly.
