Does anyone have any experience of moving with pets to Goa. I run an animal rescue charity here in the UK and have acquired over the years 8 dogs and a couple of cats. The cats I could find a new home for and they would be happy, my dogs I couldnt leave behind.
Are you allowed to bring pets into India, I think they would cope OK with climate etc. Goodness knows how they would react to snakes etc. Am I going to even find a place to rent, unless I can buy, which would allow me to bring my animals with me.
Told you you would think I am mad!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes you can bring dogs to Goa.We have brought our dog with us,but a word of warning it is alot of hassle and expensiveWe used a travel company called Jet setpets and flew the dog from Birmingham with Tomson. All the paperwork was in order but i still had to bribe a top official so it ran smoothly at this end.I think though you are only allowed to bring two pets max,so with 8 dogs you will have a problem. If you need any info let me know.
Thanks John, will give them a call tomorrow
try private messaging a member called cartman too she brought a dog from goa to UK and has a load of contacts
Regards Arl
We fetched 2 dogs and a cat with us in Jan 06, we used a company called Jets 4 pets based in Leeds, they sorted everything for us. It was not plain sailing by any means at this end, it took hours to get them released at the airport and we spent 2 days with them at customs. They have all encountered snakes, the cat fetched one home
The rules state 1 dog per person and a "limited number of cats"
They don't need any vaccinations to come but obviously ours were and they had their rabies jabs.
Veterinary care is very good and a fraction of the cost, our vet comes to the house, our new puppy had her rabies jab 2 weeks ago, it cost Rs250 which included the visit.
PM me if you want any more info, be glad to help.
Julie
