Haven't stayed since ALL INCLUSIVE. It is in a good position regarding shops and beach. When we were there it didn't have air conditioning, you really need it during peak season.CBG
INVALID URL There are some better hotels in the area, and to be honest, with so many good places to eat in the resort, I wouldnt bother going All Inclusive there.
Its an ok-ish hotel. Yes location is good, but the hotel has seen better days and pool area is crowded in peak season. You can find some pics on my website (
There are a couple of pictures of the Gran Playa if you look at the photo galleries section.
Hotel ok'ish, but a little dated. When I stayed there the public bar and reception were ok with the air-con however the rooms were baking hot and found it impossible to sleep without the windows fully open.
My daughter and i have booked a holiday at the Gran Playa, there will be ourselves and a 3 year old and 11 month old in the party. Has anyone been to the Gran Playa this year, and could you let me know what it was like if you have, as i have read some worrying reports on various websites. Also does anyone know if the Gran Playa provides cots for babies, and if so the approximate cost, as we dont think our 11 month old is going to be settled enough in a bed.
Haven't been this year, however have stayed there in the past. It is one of the older hotels in the resort and when we were there only had air-con in reception and the indoor bar area. It had a fairly basic feel to it however the staff were friendly, the rooms were clean and there was always sunbeds available whatever time you went to the pool. I have too since read some "iffy" reports on this accomodation, we went with Sky Holidays however I don't think they offer it now and I believe a lot of the bookings are done via teletext but am not sure with which operator.
Check out previous reviews
I have booked to go for 9 days to the gran playa resort in sa coma. I have read all the reviews that I can find on this hotel and unfortunatly there are only a couple I can find from this year, and all of those seem very bad. I am very worried now as I am taking my two young children to this hotel and would hate to get there and the holiday be a nightmare.
Can anyone put my mind at rest because at the moment I am considering canceling my holiday and I would really rather not do that as I will loose quite a bit of money.
Thanks Charlie
I would ignore the reviews and just go rather than cancel and loose money. There are plently of good places to eat if the hotel food is poor, a lovely beach instead of the pool and alternative entertainment in the resort.
Merged with existing topic.
Hi, I stayed at this hotel , and was terrified about some of the reports I had read, let me put your mind at rest, its great, we stayed all inclusive with 3 kids, age 3,11. and 13 and had a really great holiday. Rooms were clean and tidy, food was fine, what you would expect from a 3* but we had no complaints at all. Lovely swimming pool and sun area. We had a fab time and I hope you do too. Some people just want too much!!
Could you tell us when you stayed here scl ?
I must say I am taking the bad reviews with a pinch of salt, some people expect 5* treatment for 3* prices. I will make my own mind up when we arrive.
Hi there, i go out there tomorrow. My friend who stayed at the Vista Badia last year says that the water park is Pro Tour only however it is really more of a lido and the slides are only suitable for small kids.
thanks for that. Have a great time
If the Gran Playa is next to the Coma Gran, then there is a massage parlour right next door. We were staying at the Coma Gran.
