no i am not missing cause i am still here
Welcome to HT. What you wrote was what us Brits would call,"Taking the Mickey" or "Rubbing salt into the wound" !! It is good to have a laugh though. I, like many other people on this Forum really love your country, which is why people return here year after year and also why a lot of us have bought or are seriously thinking of buying a property there. I think many people on this forum would join me in wishing the people of Turkey a trouble free year for 2007 and that you prosper from our tourism.
not so much the place but the people ,,going on 16th feb for a week to stay with turkish friend ,and go sightseeing
welcome hasanbilir
For us, it is both the place and the people and yes, of course, the food as well. September can't come soon enough !!

could not get to turkey last year so its 475 days since i last touched the sacred soil and drank the best beer on the planet but 6th of september 2007 is not far away and kusadasi here i come cant wait
what you must remember is that most turkish people are on £50 a week and they have to feed a family on that, the guy who delivers our drinking water is always sayimg he wants to come to england to earn some money. he starts work at 8 am delivering water ,and finishes at 9 pm 6 days a week for £200 a month ,he has 2 young children and no car. we are lucky we go on hol there and our money goes a long way, but when i see this guy sweat pouring off him doing 13 hrs a day for £50 a week, i always give him 5 ytl and the water is 3 ytl. when i was working last summer in the heat we had i thought of him and realised although i was sweating at least i was doing an 8 hr day and taking home good money.
not all are on low wages .our turkish friend was getting around £50 a day in just tips .he now has a new car ,rents a nice apartment .has a credit card and has even payed £10.000 to rent a bar and still has enough to last all winter.so be careful of sob stories
I keep thinking that because i havent travelled at all then i ought to try a different country this year. But to be honest all i want to do is go back to Olu Deniz. I am sure that if i feel like this then no where else will live up anyway (although i am tempted by photos of Thailand too).
Like what has been said before, the Turkish culture and the Turkish people are by far the best I have ever met on any of my holidays abroad. I dont think I would ever go back to Spain/Portugal/Canaries now. I have a chance to go to New Zealand Feb 2008, but I think with what I would pay for that, I would rather have 3 trips to Turkey.
I love it and miss it so much, and am now on countdown.

it is very addictive you can't help but enjoy the way of life and culture
I used to get homesick on holidays until I found Turkey. Now I cry when I have to leave.
I miss all the great friends that you leave behind. Over the years they become best mates.
ive been going to turkey for 25 years and still love it and go anything from 3-6 times a year, all year round, so have seen it in all seasons, i do have my favourite and least favourite places too, got to wait for july for my next visit for 3 weeks cant wait
