Urgent help - air france.

Hi all, My son is on his way back from China, he has got as far as Charles de Gaulle airport & their flight has been cancelled at 5pm, they are now on standby for the 8pm flight to Heathrow. Does anyone know, if they can't get them on a flight tonight, are they obliged to put them up in a hotel until tomorrow. They have flown the whole journey with Air France & there is 13 of them. I personally cannot see them all getting a standby flight tonight!!! The only contact I have is through texting my son. Please, any advice I can give him. He is very tired now & just wants to get home. Thanks to all. Deb x.

He has just rung me, 12 of the 13 have managed to get on the 8pm flight & the 13th is quite happy to spend a night in Paris....!! Thanks anyway.

I am glad they have managed to get things sorted, shame the 13th is left on his own though. What a pain after a long flight to have that trouble.

Hi Mary, Last text I had from him says they got the 13th on the flight, now it's an hour delayed........not even left Paris yet :roll:

Just a complete blow to the end of your holiday, but at least they will all be home sometime tonight.

I can imagine your anxiousness until you see him, but try not to worry too much, he will be home before you know it.

An unfortunate end to his holiday, but it could perhaps have been worse. It seems that up to 75% of flights in and out of Paris were disrupted today due to industrial action by some air traffic controllers.

Yes David, thats exactly what it was. He has just rung from Heathrow absolutely exhausted, but happy to be almost home! As you say, it is a rotten way to end a great trip, but at least he's back in UK now. No doubt walking through the door telling me how hungry he is... :roll:

- typical lad!!! Thanks for all your kind words, will remember them while I plough through his washing tomorrow - well, thats what us mums are for..
