My friend works in Crete each year, I know it`s not the same but she books a cheap apartment or hotel for a few nights until she finds something localy. She mostly uses estate/letting agents, she gets it a lot cheaper on a long term let than if she were to do a short term. Thomsons, Alpharooms and apartments abroad sometimes have last minuite offers on. The Majorca Bulletin newspaper has a ads section in it.

Whoes she working for? Could they help her find something?
