avoid markets and small holdings and try and find an official distributor.
Otherwise it might end in tears.
There are enough outlets for you to be able to compare prices.

just check your getting a european version, and not american and you will be fine...... prices vary a little so shop around
Get your best price at home first.
If its too cheap its not right!
A lot of crooks out there,

crooks in tenerife..................... nah !!!!!
Don't bother , buy at home i've been ripped off twice when buying in Tenerife (yes I didn't learn my lesson the first time) Currys or Argos will prove cheaper plus if your DS breaks you can take it back!
There are lots of previous threads on the subject of buying electrical goods:

Personally, I wouldn't bother. You can get good good prices for electrical goods on many UK online retailers such as Amazon etc and also on our own high street sellers such as Currys, Argos etc and, as someone has already said, you can take it or send it back if there is a problem

The other christmas ( 2005 i think) we were in LC just beofre and my friend asked if we would be able to pick up her youngest daughter a pink nintendo ds with the dog game on as they had completely sold out in this country and she just could not get one ( they were being quoted at £600 on a well known buying and selling website). Naturally, she wanted to try every avenue so as not to disappoint her 8 year old who was expecting this as a matter of course as she had been very good! We shopped around and we did manage to find one from a high street seller in a rather nice shop on the beachfront walk from LC into PDLA. ( Can't remember exactly where..) but we ended up buying the plug adapter, something with 100 other games on and various other packages for what worked out at £120. One very happy child and we were relieved that everything worked ok!
In general, my advice would be to not bother as there are alot of rip off merchants and it sort of consumed alot of time on our holiday shopping around when otherwise we would have been doing other things. The price difference is only nominal anyway. We just got lucky.

I agree with cyberspacecadette..I found that Dixons at Gatwick were cheapest when i was thinking of buying a PSP.If it sounds too good to be true then it is!!
