Casa Del Mar small, boutique, better standard.
Berjaya BIG with lots of facilities.

Both on beach. 5 years ago the Berjaya was in a state, staff on strike, rooms falling down, but I believe it has since been revamped.

Casa Del Mar's food has a greatreputation.

Do you prefer big or small??

Don't really mind whether it's big or small but would prefer not to have lots of steps to walk up & down from our room to the beach/pool. We had a 110 steps at our hotel in Thailand to climb at least twice a day.

We stayed at Casa Del Mar in September 05 and we absolutely loved it. The hotel is staight on the beach so you will not need to climb any steps.
The staff are fantastic and if we went to Langkawi again we would definitely stay here!

We like small, quiet hotels - and that's exactly what CDM was.
If it was too quiet for you, CDM is next to loads of other restaurants and shops and walking distance from Underwater world.

A week after our arrival back in the UK we got a surprise postcard from the management of CDM which we thought was very nice touch.

If you don't like steps, the Berjaya is the wrong hotel for you.

The Casa Del Mar will probably be perfect for you - as above poster said a few steps onto the beach!
