Did it again.
Booked up for next July. 2 weeks A/I at Ghazala gardens.
£3090 for 5 adults flying from glasgow with Airtours.
what a steal
THink you shall be surprised at El Gouna... we did Sharm one year and El Gouna the next, and found more to do in the evening in El Gouna than Sharm. Sharm does have Namma Bay, but not fabulous for strolling around in the evening due to the hassle by shop keepers. El Gouna has both downtown and the marina, hassle free, which both do a party night once a week which is fab, and theres lots of bars downtown with pool tables [free I may add!] and the locals are always up for a challenge we found. We enjoyed it so much that we are going back again this year. Perfect!
Hope you enjoy.
Great deal for 2008! And from Glasgow. We got ours for £500 per person this year from London though, through Eclipse Direct All Inc to El GOuna, was pleased with that. Ok, we still have flights to London, but managed to get a hotel through Octopus Travel for £50 per night, thats for 2 adults, 1 child, including breakfast and transfers back and forward to airport!
Just booked for the iberotel lamaya resort marsa alam.
any one know about this hotel, the reviews are great.

Comparing El Gouna to Sharm...
is like comparing St Peter Port to say, London, Manchester or Birmingham.
Im new to the Egypt board - but not to the site!
I have just booked for myself, my OH and 3 of our children to go out to Namma Bay next May :-)
Decided to book at the Marriot as there wasnt much choice on the Thomas Cook site for hotels ( I get discount and as we have recently married, had loads of Thomas Cook Vouchers, so had to book with them) - The only downside was that there are very limited hotels with family rooms - so we booked 2 rooms, and i had to insist they made a note on the booking for adjacent rooms.
I have went to Egypt on a 3 week tour of the country in 2001, which was fab but tiring, so really looking forward to a relaxing holiday out there.
Any other familes going out there in May next year?
Kells
Have just tried all three of the above mentioned holiday companies and I found Thomson the cheapest but at the moment Freedomdirect and onthe beach are winners for me
