First Caribbean Holiday... need advice!

Hi there people...

My boyfriend and I are seriously considering a holiday in the Caribbean next year. I was wondering if I could get some advice on the following:

1) We are both keen divers, any recommendations for diving at a hotel in the Caribbean?

2) I have heard some places do extra excursions out, we wouldn't mind doing this too...

3) All inclusive would be best then we don't have to worry about food

4) We desperately good value for money as I'm a student... anything around the £500 - £600 each??

Basically, we are looking for something similar to our trip in Egypt. We stayed in an A/I hotel, had some trips out and went diving... it was perfect! We'd like to experience something similar in the Caribbean if possible!

Any island / hotels anyone can recommend will be greatly appreciated, thanks for your time!

HI Michelle.
I'll be the first to advise you. I'm sure the Dominican Republic would tick all your boxes. Most of the Caribbean islands will offer what you're after, good diving/snorkling and a variety of excursions. However taking your budget into account your best choice of accomodation would be in the Dom Rep (being with the cheapest Caribbean destinations).

We went to an AI in the North and had a fantastic holiday. Good Luck with the hunt.

You might not be able to get anything in your budget, but definately consider the south coast of the Dom Rep. The diving there is very under-rated. I've dived all over the Caribbean and in terms of cost, the Dom Rep is about the best value with some of the best diving in the region. The north coast is ok, but the Caribbean side is better diving wise because the reefs are in much better condition.
