We were in Candolim last year for the 2 weeks up to and including Christmas and saw no change at all. Not sure about other areas....

Accommodation prices tend to rocket around this time but food/drink and taxis remain pretty much the same. Taxi fares at New Year take a bit of a hike, that's if you get get one. When it takes 40 mins from Calangute to Baga not many turn up for work on New Years Eve  Total gridlock man!!!

We have been in Goa for the last 3 Christmas/New Years and also went for the last two weeks of April (was it only last week we were still there? :( ). We noticed that the prices were cheaper at the end of the season than they are at the peak. In fact, Kim Faa had put stickers over the prices on their menu with lower ones written over the top.

Katie I did see the stickers on the menu at Kim Faa, but I thought it was cause the prices had increased :yikes just shows you how much attention I pay

:) They seem to have cottoned on this year. The room I stay in has more than doubled for December (I'm looking for cheaper!!)

hotels and guesthouses definately put prices up particularly for those only staying a few nights. Some taxi drivers try it on so check your price before you get into a cab. Haven't seen any changes in the restaurants or bars.
cheers Lyn
