pinewood apartments or prince hotel help please
has anyone been to either of these they both sound quite good.
Hi
we've stayed at the Prince apartments twice and had a great time, excellent location, lovely big pool. the rooms are spacious and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. My only gripe was the air con was a bit useless. The staff in the prince funpub are brilliant, they ensure you'll have a great time, one year my son was the only british child there so the waiters used to take him out to play pool when it was their afternoon off. Find the prices a bit steep now though.

Pinewood are in the old village and are nice but a twenty minute walk into the centre. Prince apartments are very central quite near the beach. Myself I prefer the old village.
hi pinewood is in the old bit Prince is in the center go to the prince
I can confirm both of these apartment/hotels are very very good, If your looking for the quieter place to go try the Pinewood, as it's situated about a 15 minute walk from the centre of Icmeler, The prince appartments are situated near the centre of Icmeler and the beach isabout 200 meteres from the Apartments, Both are well decorated and well staffed, If you go to the Pinewood please take a kettle with you as none are in the appartments, Both serve good food although they are just that little bit more expensive than the main centre restauraunt bars in Icmeler.
According to the latest review the Pinewood now have kettles . I hope so because the Pinewood is where I am staying and i am not taking mine now.

Well all I can say on that is that they didnt have any at all in October 2006 and I was there the last week of the season 23rd to the 30th, I would check with the Travel Agent before leaving, If you dont take a kettle dont worry as you can use a small pan to boil water on the 2 ring stove.
As you have actually stayed there I wonder if you can help me.
When we booked these apartments they were not in the Portland Brochure
but we have just received the 2008 brochure and they are now in. The problem is it says that they are set a mountainside. Is this right?
It also say that they are unsuitable for people with mobility problems. I have Asthma and have problems with hills. I was concerned at the location and now I am really worried.

Hi there,
Don't worry the Pinewood in Ichmeler are not up a mountain, they're a little out of town, probably 15 minutes from the sea front.
When I was there the Air Conditioning was a total rip off £5 per day and no negotiation. Apart from that the place was lovely.

Hi Margaret - no - please dont worry - The Pinewoods are a pleasant amble into the town and down to the beach - most definately NOT up a montainside
To be honest we enjoyed the walk - plenty of interest along the way - small supermarkets for stocking up etc. I am also asthmatic and had no problem - it maybe a gradual incline from the beach to the apartments but its not one big hill if you see what I mean.
We loved the apartments and would definately go back.
Forgot to say - no kettles there last year but realised that there was a special sort of saucepanny thing for boiling water - so didnt need kettle.

Thanks a lot for the reassurance.
